Education and Training

John received his BA in psychology from Syracuse University where he graduated with Honors, completing a Senior Thesis while assisting Dr. Barbara Fiese and Dr. Stephen Maisto with family systems and substance abuse research. He obtained his MS in counseling from SUNY Albany where he participated in a 2 year supervised internship funded by the State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services providing counseling to adolescents in treatment for substance abuse. He is a nationally certified counselor and licensed by the State of New York as a Mental Health counselor. John has received advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis.

John Mondello, MS, LMHC, has been providing counseling and psychotherapy since 2000. He has provided services in a variety of settings with not-for profit agencies and is currently in private practice. John provided supportive counseling and psychotherapy at sites including Daytop Village, Rhinebeck, NY, and the Mental Health Association of Columbia Greene Counties, Hudson, NY. He has provided services in the fields of substance abuse rehabilitation and clinical mental health counseling.
